General Terms and Conditions
Before signing up for an account, you should read these terms and conditions. Agreeing to them is part of the registration process. If you do not read them and continue to signup an account, you will by default be agreeing to them. Note:- There may be additional terms and conditions that apply to specific competitions. Pascal Game Development Competition System General Terms and Conditions Last Revised: 7nd July 2009 Definitions:- "PGD" refers to the website Pascal Game Development (http://www.pascalgamedevelopment.com) and the website PGD Annual (http://www.pgdannual.com) "Staff" refers to members of PGD who are either administrators of the website or who are deemed to be responsible representatives of the site by the site administrators or owners. "Content" refers to any files, images, documents or other data uploaded to the PGD competition site by you, the user. "Judge" refers to those users who are listed as judges for a particular competition, this may include staff members, the competition organizers or third parties such as representatives of the sponsors. Terms:- 1. To compete in the competitions taking place on this site you must register a user account. To do this, you must provide your realname (in full), a display/nickname, your email address and contact details. These are required to arrange delivery of your prizes if you should win any. This information is not shared with any third parties and may only be used in connection with competitions you enter and to notify you of upcoming competitions that may be of interest to you. 2. By uploading "Content" to this site, you hereby grant "PGD" and its "Staff" a non-exclusive perpetual licence to use the content of the files either in part or as a whole for the purposes of promoting PGD or its activities. 3. Unless otherwise stated by the competition rules, all competition entries should be developed using Pascal or it's derivatives such as Object Pascal. 4. The judges decisions are final. 5. Unless otherwise stated by the competition rules, competitors can at their discretion provide the source code for their entries, specifying the licence under which the source code is to be made available. Competitors retain full and complete rights to the source code. NOTE:- Whilst �PGD� and it�s �Staff� may use the executable binaries of your entries and other associated media such as screenshots (as stated in 2.), �PGD� and it�s �Staff� will not use source code without seeking your prior consent regardless of the license under which the source code is released. 6. If you are asked to provide the source code by a judge for inspection, you must do so. Judges are not permitted to distribute source code without your permission. Failure to provide the source code could result in disqualification or other penalty as deemed necessary by the judges. Judges will only request the source code if there is serious doubt regarding the authenticity of your source. It will be inspected and then deleted once the inspection is completed, it will not be retained by the judges and you will not be granting �PGD�, it�s �Staff� or the �Judges� any rights to the source code. At your discretion, you can request that this inspection be carried out by the competition organizer. The organizer will be bound by the same requirements as judges in respect of any source code submitted to them. 7. The use of copyrighted material will not be tolerated. Infringement of copyright will result in disqualification. 8. All risk or liability in cases of copyright infringement or other legal issues resides with the entrant. "PGD" and it's "Staff" assume no responsibility for submissions made by competition entrants. 9. Entries can be made by individuals or teams of individuals. Prizes will be awarded on a per-entry basis. The team owner is responsible for specifying how the prizes are to be allocated to team members. 10. Submissions must contain all the files required to run. This includes a user manual describing the game, it�s controls and how to play it, which should be in a common document format (e.g. TXT, RTF, PDF, HTML, DOC). 11. The competition is open to participants worldwide. All national and local laws and regulations of the resident�s country of residence apply. 12. "PGD" and it's "Staff" reserve the right to modify contest rules, prize allocations or cancel the contest at any time without prior notification. 13. Your entries should be written specifically for the competition they are being entered in. You cannot submit an entry that was started before the competition began unless stated otherwise by the competition rules. Anyone found to be breaking this rule could be subject to disqualification. 14. Your entries should run on the hardware/operating systems used by the competition judges. If your entry does not run on the hardware/operating system used by the judges, or the judges cannot get it working by following the instructions in the user manual then you will score no points for that submission. This rule does not exclude the use of emulators for alternative platforms such as the Nintendo DS. 15. Unless stated otherwise in the rules of a competition, your entry submission files should be limited to the following sizes:- (a) Design archive should be no bigger than 24MB, (b) Install archive should be no bigger than 48MB, (c) Source archive should be no bigger than 48MB and (d) Screenshots should be no bigger than 1024 pixels wide or 768 pixels high and should be no more than 2MB in size. 16. All Install and Source archives should be packed using one of the following formats:- (a) ZIP (.zip), (b) RAR (.rar), or (c) TARBALL (.tar.gz). Screenshots should be submitted in JPG, GIF or PNG format. I agree to the general terms and conditions laid out above.
